Utilize this Preventative Maintenance Checklist to properly keep your machine in its best condition.
Mandril & Shooter Wheels
- Inspect tightness of the rubber rollers. There should be slight tension on these rollers and hand cranks should be tightened down. If incorrect tension is applied the rubber rollers will wear down unnecessarily.
- Ensure you are using the right size Mandril for your product specs. An incorrect size of Mandril will make it so your machine does not operate correctly and will not work with your products.
- Inspect the shooter wheels for any uneven wear and tear. If the shooter wheel is smooth it may be time to replace because this could cause your machine to not function properly.
Timing Belts
- Inspect timing belts on your machine to make sure there is no wear and tear on these belts and no teeth are missing. If teeth are missing, the timing belt will not grip correctly and cause your machine to malfunction.
- Inspect the tension of the timing belts. Make sure there is proper tension on these belts or else they will not function correctly.
- Replace any worn down timing belts. If you notice that any belts are missing teeth or overall not functioning how they should, it could be time to replace your timing belts on your machine.
Cutter Box
- Remove the Mandril, and the cutter box to properly view and replace any parts within the cutter box. To do this, you will have to loosen any wheels and washers inside of the machine, you can then loosen the timing belt and slowly remove the cutter box from the machine.
- Check sharpness of blades and replace when necessary. These blades will wear over time with use and for maximum functionality it’s important that the blades are sharp.
Control Box
- Turn off and unplug the machine. Make sure there is not water or condensation in the control box. Inspect all wiring making sure nothing is pulled out or damaged. Check all fuses and if any are blown replace immediately.
